Bringing nature closer to people's lives while conserving it .

SUSTAINABILITY.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILTY.

The sustainability principle covers the entire responsible Environment management process. Environmental conservation only happens when local people understands that the forest is worth more standing than down.

The raw materials we use in production are wood gathered by beachcombers. These are driftwoods calles “dagsa” brought in by waves from different places.  No trees are purposely cut during the production process. Some materials are stumps of large trees discarded by loggers. Some materials are dug from the ground, estimated to have aged for centuries down under. These materials often, have rotten sapwood but highly intact heartwood. And it being underground in muds and seawater for decades and centuries, exposes it to a lot of elements, seasoning it naturally, thus giving it an unbelievable natural color, texture, shape and hardness.  What is considered a defect for the others, we regard as the detail that makes our pieces unique. It is natural design.

The creation of our pieces values the work of nature. Everything starts with a blueprint in mind. The designs are dictated by the raw materials available. The natural contour of the wood with its unconventional shapes and forms are not modified but rather become the basis for the final appearance of the pieces. We explore the details presented by nature, like the marks caused by the passage of time, by insects and animals that lived in the tree, by the rain and the drought. That is, the entire living history of the tree registered in its wood.  Cubo assemblage is different from the usual process as each piece is unique adapting them to the needs of the modern man. Our finishing preserves the natural characteristics of the wood.

We advocate not only Environmental preservation but also, education. We love to educate our local people on how to value nature’s design and instill in them the discipline of protecting the environment while providing then alternative livelihood.
